Lucien Gibert began his training with his cabinetmaker father. In 1921, he arrived in Paris where he followed Jean Boucher's courses at the Beaux Arts from where he graduated.
From 1923, he exhibited regularly at the Salon des Indépendants. He received many public commissions, he produced two groups of monumental sculptures, one female and the other male, representing young athletes adorning the entrance to the Stade Charléty in Paris.
