"Charles Bridge In Praque By Victoria Susanna Colkett-hine (british, B.1840)"
Rare old view of the famous Charles Bridge over the river Vltava in Praque was executed in 1870s by British good listed architecture painter and etcher Victoria Susanna Colkett (in marriage Hine). She was the dauther of the painter Samuel David Colkett, she was born in Norwich in 1840, died in 1926, exhibited in 1859-1866 her 9 castle and cathedral views at the exhibition of the British Istitute; in 1870 - at the Royal Academy. 1874 she married the painter Harry Hine. 1887-1898 member of the Soc. of Painter Etchers, she exhibited by their exhibitions until 1890. She created smaller series of views of Oxford, Cambridge, Norwich, Liverpool and Edinburgh, which were published in London by WSMansell.

Technique: watercolor on paper, under glass, protected by it´s original wood back. Original period gold-plated wood matt and salon frame. Measurements: unframed 41 x 61 cm, framed 63 x 83 cm.
Condition: the painting is in excellent condition.
