"Magnificent Katana Shinto Blade Signed Tsuguhiro Certified Tokubetsu Hozon Nbthk In Shirasaya"
"Beautiful Shinto Katana Blade Signed Tsuguhiro Certified Tokubetsu Hozon NBTHK in Shirasaya" Very high quality blade of Katana Shinto Zaimei Tsuguhiro 1st generation and Certified Tokubetsu Hozon by the NBTHK in its Shirasaya.

This "Tsuguhiro 1st generation" blade was forged in the Echizen Seki Tradition, but in the Ichimonji style, around the year 1660. Tsuguhiro 1st generation is classified as Wazamono by the fact that its blades are very sharp and therefore were very appreciated by the Tokugawa, it is classified as Chu-Jo-Saku, which for a sword of Shinto period is a serious reference. This sword represents a sure value, endowed with an expertise which cannot be questioned and justified by the intrinsic quality of this blade.

Name of the smith : Omi-no-kami Fujiwara Tsuguhiro "近江守藤原継広" (Omote side) and Echizen Ju Shimosaka "越前住下坂" (Ura side).

Certificate : NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon Token Kanteisho certificate is one rank above the classic/standard Hozon. N°120134. Registered with name (Zaimei) dated: May 16, 1989. Registration certificate (compulsory) Torokusho: N°40539 at Ibaraki Prefecture. Inscriptions on the certificate : Length: 63.6cm, Curvature (Sori) : 1.2cm, 2 holes in the tang. (Mekugi-ana). Registered as : Zaimei, with the name Omi no Kami Fujiwara Tsuguhiro and on the reverse : Echizen-Ju Shimosaka.
Date of the certificate : Showa 61, July 22, 1986.

Signature : Omi no Kami Fujiwara Tsuguhiro - Reverse : Echizen Ju Shimosaka Declared authentic and genuine, Blade length : 63,9cm That is to say : Total length of : 80,5 cm.

We, the Federation after visual examination of the sword designated on the right, declare it authentic. (See above) certify it with the result for this Saber as: "Tokubetsu Hozon Token*" (Work). As of : Heisei Gannen Gogatsu 16 Nichi that is to say: 16 May 1989, that is to say well after the last reform of classification of the blades.

*This means that this sword has surpassed the 7 selection criteria of the Hozon stage. Swords that have reached this level have a substantially higher value (Ref. Site NBTHK).

Translated into: "Saber of high value deserving special attention".

Appraisal performed by: "The Nonprofit Federation for the Preservation of Japanese Sword Art" N.B.T.H.K, with a square red stamp following.

With B/W photographs of the Nakago (Silk) Saber showing both sides with signature inscriptions authenticated by two red ink stamps at the top and bottom.on brown Japanese paper.

The whole in a yellow-orange envelope entitled: "Tokubetsu Hozon Token Kanteisho" or: "Expertise for a blade of high value deserving special attention", with complete address of the Federation on the back. (With the addition in pencil of Oomi no Kami Tsuguhiro)
