Astonishing and RARE small medallion, representing the KING of ROME (son of NAPOLEON I - EMPEROR of the FRENCH), in left profile bust. Background in imitation of malachite decorated with the bust of the KING of ROME in grisaille. The medallion is surrounded by a small bronze frame. Dimension (s): Diam. 9.2 cm Brand (s): NONE Condition: PERFECT CONDITION Period: EARLY XIXth This medallion is very interesting by the originality of its decoration, but especially of its background in imitation of an extremely rare color on porcelain, malachite, however used since antiquity, but extremely difficult to achieve on porcelain. Another rare and interesting element is the representation of the KING of ROME, which is also very rarely found on porcelain or biscuit. Most of these medallions were made by the Manufacture de SÈVRES, generally in white or blue biscuit, the same for Parisian production.
