"Antoine Soustre (xixth-xxth). Female Portrait, Porcelain Painting"
Portrait of a woman with a pearl necklace, sporting a rose hanging from her lace collar, itself adorned with a medallion. This admirable portrait is the work of Antoine Soustre, known in Limoges for his remarkably fine enamels as well as for his talents as a painter on porcelain. The portrait we present is signed lower right and dated 1908. It was made on a porcelain plate from the William Guérin factory and bears the trademark for the period 1891-1932 on the reverse.
