""ocelot Carrying A Heron", Bronze By Antoine Louis Barye (1795-1875), French School"
A bronze sculpture with a brown patina shaded in green representing an ocelot carrying a heron on a naturalistic terrace. The tiger cat is holding the heron in its claws as it sweeps the earth with its wings, its death as near as it is cruel. Antique proof signed BARYE on the terrace, at the back, near the left posterior of the ocelot, edited and signed F.Barbedienne Fondeur. Very good quality print, light and fine cast with a beautiful patina of the period.
