"J. Gouillet (1905) Tapestry Project Inspired By Aubusson Soap Factory"
Remarkable representation painted in oil inspired by the royal tapestries of the Savonneries d'Aubusson. The artist drew inspiration from the motifs dear to Pierre-Josse Joseph Perrot, namely the very colorful flowers and the seashells adorning the angles of his tapestries. What makes the work exceptional is the meticulous brushwork on canvas and the use of oil colors where, generally, such projects are done summarily in pencils and ink.
