"Pair Of Large Flanders Carved Wood Facing 15th Crow Character Portrait"
Rare pair of carved oak corbels from the end of the 15th century, Flanders or Southern Netherlands. Very beautiful architectural elements as a pendant, representing the portrait of a woman with her eyes raised and a man with his head turned to the left. The composition of the whole suggests that the two sculptures were originally placed opposite each other. Old visible external consolidations, pieces of wood formerly assembled to strengthen the elements. Very beautiful expressions.
