Exotic Wood Cabinet, Napoleon III

A magnificent 19th century French Napoleon III cabinet in ebony, gilt bronze, marble and exotic wood. The cabinet is raised by elegant topie-shaped legs with thin foliated bands in gilded bronze. The base features beautiful, fitted rectangular patterns in burl walnut framed with a pretty string of charming wood. Most of the decorative circular conical fluted columns ascend on either side and feature intricately detailed gilded bronze candles and exceptional gilt bronze capitals. The central door displays stunning exotic woods intricately encrusted with a detailed urn on a burl walnut background. The door displays an elegant foliated gold band with richly chiseled square rosettes at each corner and opens to reveal two shelves. Flanking the door are additional panels masterfully inlaid with exceptional floral inlay also repeated on either side. Above is the original white Carrara marble top mounted in a thin band of gilded bronze.
