Coming from a family of carpenters, he developed his activity at the Faubourg Saint Antoine. Its production is then essentially Louis XV style. The work of Pierre Kjelleberg, "French furniture of the eighteenth century" tells us that he produces both luxurious seats but also seats that are called simpler use. Thus, he would have executed ten Transition armchairs for the Marquis de Marigny, now held in a Parisian collection.
