Jules Grün was a student of Jean-Baptiste Lavastre, painter and decorator of the Paris Opera, and landscape painter Antoine Guillemet. His favorite themes are still life, portraits and scenes of Parisian life. The highlight of his painted work was the 1909 commission from the Under Secretary of State for Fine Arts, Étienne Dujardin-Beaumetz, to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Salon des artistes français in 1911. In 1920, 1921 and 1927, Jules Grün exhibited in Argentina at the Witcomb Gallery in Buenos Aires. Very attached to his work, this gallery dedicates to him a posthumous retrospective exhibition in 1948.
