Charming milk jug or paunchy pitcher in English earthenware known as "Jersey" shiny and enamelled with a pastoral scene on each side and also under the spout. The handle is well worked as well as its foot surrounded by pearls. Good condition. This object is old and therefore has wear of time and scratches from use. Height: 12.5 cm and 13.5 cm including handle. Circumference of the body: 32 cm (excluding handle) 19th century around 1880. Jersey earthenware is the name given to Staffordshire earthenware (England) because sailors brought them back from the island of Jersey duty free.
