Sculpture Georges Lavroff Couple of golden pheasants Brown bronze proof, signed on the terrace with the stamp of the founder Chardon. The sculpture bears the number 5720 on the reverse. Georges Lavroff (1895-1991) was a Russian sculptor born in Siberia who studied with Karatonov in Krasnoyarsk. He entered the Tomsk Faculty of Medicine, where he also took courses in drawing and painting at the Association of Artists. In 1922, he exhibited in Moscow and became a member of the Association of Artists of Revolutionary Russia. From 1927 to 1935, he was sent to France to perfect his artistic knowledge and promote Soviet art to the French Communists. He exhibited in particular at the Salon des Indépendants and the Salon d'Automne in Paris. He is known for his bronze and ceramic animal sculptures. In 1935, he returned to Moscow and became an official artist. He creates monumental sculptures and busts of Soviet leaders. In 1982, an exhibition was dedicated to him in Moscow.
