JUGENDSTIL BEAUTIFUL BRONZE ANIMAL and NATURALIST FORMING INKWELL

Signed LEBLANC (Certainly a bronze by Gustave Leblanc, successor of his uncle Ferdinand Barbedienne).

The two parts forming the base, the terrace and the receptacle of the inkwell are debossed on the back with two initials and LEBLANC (See the last photo on this subject).
Charming large-scale naturalistic bronze forming an inkwell, the receptacle depicting a lotus or water lily flower on which is placed a butterfly.
The terrace made up of an interlacing of branches, intertwined roots and flowers.
A perch made up of a promontory of roots and foliage welcomes at its top two superb bickering birds.
Two branches which descend from it carry two large leaves which form receptacles on either side of the object.
