"Pair Of Frames With Three Views From Six Scandinavian Pictures Around 1870"
In pairs, these works carved in walnut, present a decoration of leaves and bunches emerging from a background of crossed branches; Each view shows pairs of inhabitants of northern Scandinavia, Sweden and Norway; these positives on albumen paper (8.5 x 5.2 cm) are colored and laminated on cardboard with at the bottom, their authors: W. A. EURENIUS and P.L .QUIST: These famous Swedish photographers worked in Stockholm, Regeringsgatan n ° 18 in the third third of the century. Each frame is stamped (three times one, five times the other) E.G.HALLIN, on the back of the false woods and on the backs of the views, which seems to correspond to marks of belonging; Likewise, the sculptor C.A.SÖDERMAN is notified on the pictures. Present in the Kodak-Pathé collection until 1983, similar pictures have now joined the collections of the Musée d'Orsay in Paris, under inventory number PHO 1983 165 524 7.
