Sainte Blandine was a young Christian slave from Lugdunum (Lyon) who was martyred during the month of July 177 under the Emperor Marc Aurèle.
Blandine is the patroness of the city of Lyon. She is also, with Saint Martha, patroness of servants. In the iconography of Saint Blandine, we find the net , or the bull, or the grill, the lion or the bear.
