"Very Rare Robin Watch, Finished By Breguet, Ringing And Independent Seconds, Circa 1810."
Very rare and important gold watch by Robin fils à Chalons, completed by Breguet, circa 1810. Enamel dial with Arabic numerals, burnished steel Breguet hands. Typical movement (Lépine caliber) in gilded brass, with floating barrels, ruby cylinder escapement, compensator and parachute (invented by Breguet) and probably installed by him on this watch. Striking of the hours and quarters on demand by pressure on the bail, and independent dead seconds, with disengagement thanks to a slider located at six o'clock. Gold case with barley grain guilloche. On the inner bowl, with the signature of Robin fils à chalons, there is also (Repassée par Breguet, no 284). On high quality watches, watchmakers could ask the Master to intervene, to complete the manufacture of certain exceptional parts. Perfect revised condition.
