"Frank-will (1900- 1950) View Of The Tréport In Watercolor The Port And The Church Of Saint-jacques"
If the views of Paris were Frank-Will's first favorite theme, notably the Butte Montmartre, it was his resorts in the 1920s and 1930s that would take him successively to Normandy in Rouen, Honfleur as well as in Tréport in 1922, then La Rochelle, Amiens in 1929 ... and allow us to date his works more precisely from the time. Our work, which we can thus date from the beginning of the 20s, is a view of the fishing port of Tréport with its fishermen on their boats stained with bright colors, which contrast subtly with the blue-gray of the sky, the famous Saint Church. -Jacques overlooking it and its quay where a particularly dense crowd throngs. It is signed lower right "Frank-Will" and titled on the left "Le Tréport". Executed on "Jules Perrigot" watermarked paper (former owner of the famous Arches stationery), it is presented to you in its original condition, in very good condition. The colors are slightly tarnished by the reflection of the lighting and therefore the work is really more beautiful in reality, the colors really vivid. A rich palette in shades of gray, blue, green, red, brown, a subtle blue-gray for the sky ... A magnificent work!
