This votive sculpture could be sculpted in the second half of the 15th century in the studio of the Gagini, an illustrious family of artists and sculptors from Ticino and active in Genoa, Calabria but especially in Sicily where through their works they achieved a strong contribution to the development of a “Renaissance” language on the island.
The statuette has conspicuous traces of golden reflections.
The crown of the Virgin and part of the left corner of the base appear to have been reconstructed with other materials in antiquity.
Its measurement is 32 cm.
