"Persian Rug From Hezareh Tribe"
Entirely knotted by hand, pure wool, vegetable dyes, size: 2.92m x 0.76m. Many Persian village rugs are still knotted at home and represent a source of additional income. They are made with high quality local wool and natural dyes. The coarse yarn limits detailed patterns, but results in beautiful, rustic rugs with great personal charm. Many villages have a unique style, which makes it easy to identify the village or region where the rugs were made. These rugs are made in some 500 to 600 villages in a large region around the town of Hamadān in northwestern Iran. Each village or hamlet has its characteristic originality. The rugs are generally very colorful and the wool is of good quality.
