Size at sight 49 * 64 cm and with frame 69 * 85 cm Jorge Borrás, born June 5, 1952 in Benicarló, Spain, is a painter, sculptor, engraver and medalist. After completing his studies at the Royal Catalan Academy of Fine Arts of Sant Jordi in Barcelona, Jorge Borrás moved to France. His works, in particular his bronzes, are sold in important auctions mainly in France (Versailles, Drouot, Saint Germain en Laye, Enghien les Bains, etc. on June 30, 1992 two bronzes were sold at Christie's in London) . They are exhibited in Parisian Salons such as: the Salon d'Automne, the Salon des Artistes Français, the Salon des Indépendants, the exhibitions of the National Society of Fine Arts, the Salon of the French School. He received the Arts-Sciences-Lettres medal and is a member of the International Association of Plastic Arts (affiliated to UNESCO). In addition, he produced a series of medals and sculptures for the Monnaie de Paris, and various creations such as the bust of Dr Coll Colomé, a monument erected in Benicarlo (Spain) and edition covers including the novel by Jean-Marc Roberts The Friend of Vincent. Jorge Borrás' work is a tribute to women. Her favorite themes are ballerinas and bathers as well as women in attitudes of everyday life. An important work "Cristo resucitado" (bronze) can be seen in the Church of San Bartolomé in Benicarló (Spain). By decree of the President of the French Republic of November 30, 2019 published in the Official Journal of December 3, 2019, he is appointed Chevalier in the National Order of Merit.
