David Sulzer was a Swiss portrait and genre painter.Born September 9, 1784 in Winterthur (Switzerland) and died in Munsterlingen (Switzerland) on September 14, 1864. The landscape depicted is said to be the town of Weinfelden, near Lake Constance, of where the Italian influence reflected in this canvas. This is where the painter ended his life. Canvas in its original condition: dirt and cracks. Signed lower right D. Sulzer 1857
