"Tito Salas Venezuela Naughty Scene Fortune Teller"
Rare work of the Venezuelan master Tito SALAS. (he was born in Caracas in 1887 and died in this same city in 1974). He is one of the greatest Venezuelan painters. He won the Caracas Academy of Fine Arts scholarship in 1904 which allowed him to go to Paris where he studied at the Julian Academy from 1905 and in 1906 with the masters Jean Paul Laurens and Lucien Simon. He therefore probably performed this work during this period. The fabric manufacturer's stamp is in Paris. Tito SALAS represented himself in this saucy scene as often in this kind of composition. Oil on canvas on stretcher: 73 x 60 frame in wood and gilded stucco of total dimensions: 90 x 87 in good condition with restorations carried out by a professional workshop
