"Curved Chest Of Drawers From Dauphiné, Bronze With C Crowned 1745, Louis XV Period, 18th Century"
Exceptional and very important curved chest of drawers in veneer from Dauphiné with a gilded bronze trim with crowned C. The woods used are satin wood, rosewood and cherry burl. Its original marble with corbin beak is a blue turquin marble. Designed under Louis XV to be a tax hallmark, the C crown has also become a hallmark of quality and date for collectors: used between 1745 and 1749, it seems to have been carved only on the most refined bronzes. Our chest of drawers also features an upset marquetry game as well as a clover figure on the sides. It could be likened to the production of the great Ebenites: "the Haches" having their workshop in Grenoble. Dimensions: l.144 cm x d.64 cm x h. 94.5 cm. Chest of drawers from the Louis XV period, circa 1745, 18th century. In perfect condition. Private collection.
