"Large Neapolitan Santon"
Large polychrome wooden santon in the middle of the 18th century, part of a very fashionable nativity scene in Naples in the 18th century. The head is in terracotta, the eyes in glass, the hands and feet in wood, it representing a holy woman in ecstasy, imploring eyes towards the sky. The hands are very well made (2 fingers restored) Exceptional model by its size (high 69cm without the base) it is based on a Napoleon III wooden base covered with a remainder of velvet.
