"Tomb Commode In Regional Wood Marquetry, Louis XIV Period - Eighteenth"
Double curved tomb commode, inlaid with pear and light plum, on an oak and fir frame. The top is a brown and gray marble shaded with white, lively on the front, and molded in beak de corbin around its edges. This piece of furniture opens with three large drawers of identical depth and composition, separated by authentic dust covers. Each of them has a keyhole in the center, accompanied on both sides by two pull handles, all original and rock spirit. The arrangement of these generous trimmings, combined with butterfly wing inlays and light and dark wood fillets, simulate rows of three small drawers. We find these inlays forming fine frames on the sides of this dresser, supplied with its three keys, reported and adjusted. The front uprights of this cabinet, also curved, are embellished, in the upper and lower parts, with bronze scraps connected by ridged cords. We will recognize the rarity of this chest of drawers which, despite its almost three hundred years of age, is perfectly suited to current trends with its modest dimensions and light colors.
