"Wooden Case With 12 Engraved Steel Lugs, Fighting Roosters, Bali, 19 / 20th Century"
Unusual object, from a collection made around 1900, it is a two-sided case, wood burl hollowed out in shape, to contain on each leaf 6 "Taji" for traditional cockfighting in Indonesia or Bali. These formidable spurs with four sharp faces, with engraved head, were tied with a red thread according to a traditional technique on the left paw of the fighting cock, this weapon allowing the fights to be less bloody, resulting in a rapid and more definitive outcome.
