"Rest In Nature By Oskar Larsen (austrian 1882-1972)"
The Art-Deco scene with society at rest was created in the 1920s by the famous Austrian history and genre painter Oskar Larsen (1882-1972). In 1897-1901 he studied at the Vienna Graphic School under Viktor Jasper, Joseph Eugen Hoerwarter and Doleschal, in 1901-1909 at the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts under Alois Delug. During World War I Larsen worked as a war painter and between 1932 and 1942 he lived in Germany. He was an honorary member of the Royal Academy of London and received various awards in Vienna, in 1919 he became a member of the Vienna Artists Unit. Larsen's paintings are on permanent display at the Vienna City Museum.
