Period 1940/50.This beautiful rug adorned with golden thread thread was created in the middle of the 20th century in China.
Tengshe are snake-like flying dragons that live among the clouds and create rain which brings abundance and good fortune. It is important to honor them as water can be either invigorating or destructive, so it makes sense to stay on their good side.
This collectible nine dragon rug, which is an auspicious number meant to bring good luck. Bright colors and heavy use of them are also a sign of good fortune. The four winds of the world are also depicted in the play along the borders.
