Series of twelve early 18th century solid silver plates Irish work, DUBLIN 1738 by one of the greatest Irish goldsmith ROBERT CALDERWOOD. The plates are engraved with the Arms of Sir ARCHIBALD ACHESON (1718-1806). Currency: "VIGILANTIBUS". Some plates are only hallmarked with the goldsmith's mark, some hallmarks are completely erased, All the plates are numbered and engraved with the individual weight in OZ of each plate.
