"Mahogany Cabaret Table, Louis XV Period"
Cuban mahogany coffee table, with "cabaret" top Particularly elegant and well-proportioned model. It rests on well arched, molded feet, finished in winding. The scalloped crosspieces have a projecting molding (the work is not the same) It opens to a large belt drawer. Superb one-piece top, hollowed out to leave the edge protruding by more than a centimeter. This type of table was developed under Louis XV with the arrival and use of coffee and chocolate in the port cities of western France. Port work, probably Bordeaux, from the mid-18th century. Beautiful quality mahogany from Cuba Remarkable condition both for the feet and the top.
