Rare Bakhtiar Carpet, Double Medallions, 153 Cm X 203 Cm, Iran, Hand Knotted, XIXth Century

This rare old Bakthiar measures 153 cm wide, for a length of 203 cm is in very good condition, given its great age and has very fresh and vibrant colors.
Its particularity, two large medallions spread out over the field, which makes it a real rarity! For my part, it is the first that I meet !!!
From the second half of the 19th century, this rug originates from the Chahar Mahal (Shotour) region in Iran.
It is a Bakthiar with double large central medallions..
The medallions have the shape of rhombuses as a whole and their heart has the shape of a large flower and large leaves.
The field is composed of large stylized, colored, and tied flowers with a very large application of symmetry, medallions, decorations, spandrels.
This type of Bakhtiar carpet is not the most common, it remains a so-called nomadic style of carpet, using colors specific to their repertoire.
This carpet is particularly neat in its decoration and it presents a certain transition between the nomadic carpet and the carpet of the cities.
These rugs are resistantly knotted with very high-quality wool from the mountains.
Despite their name and unlike different types of carpets, the Bakhtiar are not knotted by members of the Bakhtiar tribe, the Bakhtiari's, but by a different population that is now sedentary.
The Chahar Mahal region produces the Bakhtiar carpet but also the less known Yalame, more recent in manufacture but of very good reputation.
A very slight wear due to its good age, the double edges are impeccable, it is a finely tight carpet, almost a century old and of very good quality.
This rug has been professionally and environmentally cleaned.
