Limoges porcelain cup and sugar bowl signed by Jean Pouyat, 19th century and Empire style. The manufacture of Jean Pouyat (1835-1912) is one of the most famous manufactures of Limoges in the 19th century. This set is around 1880. Decor with barbels and friezes with matte and shiny gold. On the edge is a fine matte gold frieze then a shiny gold frieze with rosette and palmette motifs then to finish a frieze of cornflowers with large cornflowers in royal blue The cup is mounted on a long foot of typical extreme elegance by Jean Pouyat, all in matte gold. The base is square. The grip is typically Empire in matte gold too. The saucer has the same decoration and in the center is a slight square recess to affix the cup. The sugar bowl is mounted on a long and thin foot like the cup in matte gold too. It has 2 sockets on each side in an Empire shape. The decor is the same as on the mug. Its lid is finished with a fine matte gold fretel.
