PITCHER in pewter with a shouldered shape and depressed base, short oblique foot, flared throat and two-grained thumb.
Control hallmark: crowned inverted C / 1717 / IOINVIL.
Unidentified maker's mark received in 1706 or shortly before: crowned hammer / 1706 / FR / L / O.
Height: 29.5 cm.
JOINVILLE, First half of the 18th century

Rare provenance in very good condition
It could be a François ODELIN not yet listed and pocket relative of this one, the L being then the initial of the second first name.
Wine pitchers are a central theme in pewter collections, they were the wine measures of the Ancien Régime.
