Edouard Halouze was born in 1895 and died in 1958.
In the early 1920s, he provided fashion designs for the Gazette du bon ton and took part in an exhibition devoted to “Fashion as seen by painters” presented at the Museum of Decorative Arts. Little by little, his style, mixing cubist decorations and costumes, is essential in the covers of the programs for the music hall.
In the 1930s, at the height of the Art Deco period, he produced remarkable colored stencil prints, some inspired by his passion for mountain resorts and winter sports.
