Sideboard Buffet In Violet Wood, Louis XV Style - Late Nineteenth

Sideboard Sideboard in Violet Wood Veneer, Louis XV style, with Crossbow facade opening with two doors. The latter - just like the sides - are embellished with Marquetry in Butterfly Wings, with frames in double friezes, the first in Chevrons, the seconds in wire, or vice versa. The central element, domed, is an integral part of the right door. It is decorated with four vertical bands in Chevrons and has an original keyhole in cut Bronze. The piece of furniture is supplied with its key, also from the period. The left door has top and bottom metal clasps. Note that these two eventful leaves are mounted on offset brass lighters. The interior, in oak, offers two storage compartments, formed by the presence of a 32 cm deep shelf placed on fixed cleats. The top is a Granite Pyrenean Marble predominantly Red with shades of Gray and White. It is cut at the front, at the angles and on the sides according to the lines of the furniture and it is molded around its perimeter. The front uprights of this Commode Buffet are half-round and the cul-de-lamp is lined with a foliated Bronze. The set rests on four curved legs, inlaid with Bois de Violette in Chevrons and finished with four brass shoes. This Buffet Sideboard, whose height on feet evokes a Dresser, benefits from Pretty and Delicate Wooden Games. We will also appreciate the infrequent design of this piece of furniture, which allows us to imagine it supporting a Bronze, positioned under a Mirror, and garnished with Glassware for example.
