"Small Mahogany Lady's Secretary, Louis XVI Period - Eighteenth"
Secretaire in solid mahogany and mahogany veneer surmounted by white Carrara marble slightly veined with gray and surrounded by a brass gallery with recess on the front. This unique piece of furniture opens with a drawer in the upper part, a flap and three drawers in the lower part. Each of the facades has brass rods highlighting the deep hue of mahogany. The flap opens onto a storage space consisting of four small drawers with lens buttons and two niches. It is trimmed in red leather with cold stamping and decorated with a central golden motif. The five locks and keys are original and in perfect working order. This elegant secretary has projecting feet with a striated patterned brass plate at the top. Below, a large quarter-round brass rod surrounds all the furniture. The rest of the front feet have four grooves. They end with a top foot with collar and small brass shoe. Graceful and refined, this 18th century secretaire will delight you with the finesse of its lines.
