"Bust Of A Young Girl, Henri Paul Rey, Art Deco"
Bust of a girl carved in wood. A synthetic and subtle portrait of a young girl. The artist has skillfully captured the girl's charm, perhaps inspired by archaic Greek sculpture, whose idealization, serenity and harmony also resonate in this sculpture. Henri Paul Rey (1904-1981) - French sculptor born in Pesmes, studied at the School of Fine Arts in Besançon and the National School of Fine Arts, where he learned to work with metal, wood and ceramics. His works can be admired in museums in France, the United States, Canada and Poland. Rey was a second generation cubist. In his works he focused on form, volume and impact. His subtle sculptures include busts - portraits of famous people, anonymous representations and religious figures. Art Deco, France, signed "H. REY", 1930s. Height 39 cm, width 26 cm, length 15 cm.
