Wall Shelf Or Foot Secretary, In Mahogany - Late Nineteenth

Atypical Shelving - Wall Secretary - designed entirely in solid Cuban Mahogany, at the end of the 19th century. It is surmounted by a nicely cut pediment and presenting four small scrolls. This Retractable Cabinet consists of Five Shelves, Completely made of solid Mahogany. The main one, in the center, is a large Writing Tablet, called "Portfolio" since it unfolds in two parts. One is Metal while the other is of the same Wood Species as the Frame. These are fixed to each other with a long Brass Hinge. They are affixed to two folding consoles, each provided with a steel pull tab with button at the end. In the Upper part, this Storage Unit includes two Shelves offering increasing depths, ranging from 16.5 cm for the first to 21.5 cm for the second. They rest individually on the same Folding Supports as those described above. In the Lower part, we find two last Shelves equipped with the same Fixing process. All of the Closing Systems, as well as the Front Push Buttons are made of Brass. This Authentic Property is attached to the back of the Fronton. Historical precision: this type of Wall Secretary was specifically Invented to fit the cramped rooms of Boats. This ingenious wall shelf will undoubtedly adapt to all types of interiors. Its Clever and Original Design will allow you to store your little Reading and write your reminders there, and it will be able to be Discreet when you will not need it.
