"Emile Gallé (1846-1904) Planter In Fine Earthenware, Art Nouveau Period Around 1880 In Nancy"
Large planter in fine earthenware with polychrome decoration of small fire which, garnished with flowers, served as a centerpiece. The reliefs are rubbed with gold. The floral bouquet, painted by hand, is different on each side and small insects move here and there. Signed and located below "E. Gallé à Nancy". Made in Lorraine clay which is recognizable at first glance because of its slightly ocher colour, then enamelled and decorated by hand. Beautiful resonance of the material! The same model belongs to the collections of the Musée d'Orsay following the Rispal donation (see bibliographical references below). Length: 42 cm Weight: 2 kg Very good condition. Minor marks of age. Reference: Similar model reproduced in the work published by the Musée d'Orsay on the occasion of the exhibition "An Art Nouveau ensemble. The Rispal donation" Musée d'Orsay from 21/11/2006 to 28/01/2007 (see pictures). Many other objects to discover in my stand at the antique fairs in which I participate.
