"Female Statue Songye-tetela, D.r.c."
Statue representing a kneeling female figure. The sculpture is dominated by an imposing prognathic head perched on a cylindrical neck. The shoulders are cut at right angles and the arms descend along the body to end in hands placed on a plump belly and which frame a cavity circled in brass. Sex and the delineation of pubic hair are well represented.
Note also that another cavity supposed to receive a magic charge is located at the top of the head. Hardwood, brown-black patina, shiny reflections; Slight lacks in places
