"Paul Guiramand (1926-2007). Hst (73x54 Cm) Fairy Landscape"
Paul Guiramand (1926-2007). HST (73x54 cm) Fairytale landscape. Figurative painter, sometimes close to abstraction, Paul Guiramand is one of the young painters of the New School of Paris, and of the Young Painting movement. In addition to painting, Paul Guiramand was interested in all techniques, in particular engraving and lithography in the workshop of master printer Fernand Mourlot (1895-1988) in which Picasso, Matisse, Chagall, Braque also worked. The theatrical decoration also attracted him. In 1960, he illustrated the works of Apollinaire and Hemingway. He also creates mosaics, in particular at the University of Grenoble. From 1953, Guiramand began to exhibit his works. Many exhibitions will welcome him, until the 2000s, in Europe, the United States, Mexico and several times in Japan. Like that of André Brasilier, Paul Guiramand's painting may seem figurative at first glance. But it is above all poetic. The real is evocative, it is used to translate and produce an emotion. Bright, contrasting colors illustrate moments of pleasure, beautiful days, moments of grace, childhood memories, long summer days; in short, subjects that encourage daydreaming.
