"Two-tone Alabaster Sculpture Of An Elegant Seat Signed Pugi"
Magnificent sculpture representing a seated woman, made in two-tone alabaster, resting on a portor marble base whose feet are in gilded and chiseled bronze. Of good size, this sculpture characterizes well the anchoring of Pugi in the new art in Italy. Here the technique of direct carving is amplified by the choice of alabaster where the white face of the subject expresses great purity.
