"Chestnut Sculpture Forming Planter - Late Nineteenth"
Sculpture in Chestnut, whose upper part is a Hexagonal Planter, with a depth of 12 cm. Its six sides display salient Decorations that are all different, ranging from a Duo of Children to Mountain Goats, via a Flower Bouquet, a Goose or even a Rooster. The back side is engraved with the name of the manufacturer of this work, "Lebreton Nantes", inscribed in a banner. This receptacle is balanced on the head of a woman with long hair using her left hand. She is lightly dressed in an Antique Drape leaving her shoulders, right breast and legs bare. It is leaned against what looks like a tree stump. The feet of this character rest on a square base, with a top with molded edges and canted sides. This base is itself terminated by a wide plinth. We will appreciate the Natural material of this Sculpture, only composed of Wood, and which is just waiting to receive your prettiest green plant.
