"Small Commode In Yew And Cormier Wood, Louis XIV Style - Eighteenth"
Graceful 18th century chest of drawers, mainly made of Cormier and Bois d'If, solid and veneered. This is known for its density, hardness and homogeneity with a very fine grain. On its Top rests a Pretty Original Marble, Cherry Red from the Pyrenees, veined with White. Its perimeter with rounded lines is carved in Bec de Corbin and a Gorge. The Elegantly Curved Front of this Cabinet opens with three Drawers, embellished for each of them with a central diamond pattern surrounded by a Blond net. They also feature yew wood veneers, underlined by lemon tree inlays forming frames. These drawers offer an identical depth of 15 cm and are separated from each other by visible crosspieces inlaid in Chevrons. All are equipped with an entrance and a lock in working order, accompanied by their key, in Bronze. They are also fitted with Rocaille style pull handles, designed in the same alloy. The lower crosspiece of this piece of furniture is modestly cut, forming a drop in the center, ornamented with a bronze. The sides are composed of a Rectangular panel in solid Yew wood, called "Deployed" and a frame in Cormier. The front uprights of this Authentic Good are enriched with three Wood Species, the Central part of which is Thuja veneer. The set rests on slightly rounded feet. We will remember the Modest Dimensions of this Charming Functional Dresser, which will naturally invite itself into a Nicely arranged interior, and where the Quality of its Marquetry will be noticed.
