Sculptural Group Late Nineteenth

Artist: D'après Jean De Bologne ( 1526-1608)
Sculptural group "The Abduction of the Sabines" at the end of the 19th century made using the electroplating technique, a process already used by the Egyptians to adorn works of art with copper and which was developed at the end of the 19th century for reproduction of art objects. In our case it is the famous sculpture of Jean de Bologne or Giambologna. With this complex work, executed in 1582 in marble, the artist manages to hold 3 characters on a single square base and to create a dynamism of upward movements. Scales of this famous sculpture were highly prized by connoisseurs and collectors of the 19th century. Our copy is in perfect condition without scratches and seduces with its beautiful light brown patina. Its height: 110 cm, its maximum width: 40 cm
