"Vajrapani, Gilt Bronze, Nepal,"
Bodhisattva, in the wrathful form of Vajrapani in a dynamic posture before a halo of flame, he embodies the strength and power of the Buddhas. The attributes, a vajra (dorje) in the right hand, the left hand, in a threatening gesture, holding a lasso, express action and protection in the trilogy of qualities he embodies with Avalokiteshvara (compassion) and Manjushri (knowledge). Coral and Tibetan turquoise set embellish the representation. Mid 20th century, Nepal, 20 cm
