Object description :

"Bronze "
Bronze with Brown Patina titled “Rêverie au bord du Lac” signed Edouard Drouot (1859 – 1945). This French sculptor is known for his Sculptures of allegorical Scenes which are characterized by a Sense of Movement and an impressive Expressive touch. "Reverie au Bord du lac" is a Sensual Work, featuring a Lightly Dressed Woman in a semi-recumbent position, leaning on one elbow and caressing a Swan. Her Face turned towards the Horizon, lost in thought, she wears a wide ribbon in her long hair styled in the style of the Belle Époque. Her body is covered with a light and transparent veil, emphasizing her delicate curves and heightening her voluptuousness. The Swan, symbol of Grace and Beauty, stands at her side, seeming tamed as if bewitched. Fascinating and Graceful, this young woman reminds us of Leda, the Queen of Sparta who was seduced by Zeus transformed into a swan. Edouard Drouot signs here a Unique Work, praise to Femininity which seduces by its Harmony and its Poetry.
