Beautiful group very finely carved in white marble representing Bacchus as a drunken child.
He rides a panther over a screaming young faun and a basket of grapes, while another smiling faun supports Bacchus.
The sculpture is very finely carved with many openings.
The group is placed on a rectangular base with cut sides sculpted with a groove. (26 X 23 X 6.5 cm high).
Accidents: a faun's fingertip is missing and a bell is missing from the panther's collar.
Period second half of the 19th century.
