"Small Semainier In Cuban Mahogany And Light Mahogany, Louis XVI Period - Eighteenth"
Remarkable Louis XVI semainier in solid cuba mahogany and light mahogany composed of five drawers in the upper part and a very roomy double drawer in the lower part. Each drawer has an interior part in cuba mahogany on the front, surrounded by a discreet molding with an ogee in light mahogany. These open with ring pull handles with macaron decorated with pearls. In the center, we find a brass entrance with added key. Each lock is original and in perfect working order. The feet of this 18th century piece of furniture are in light mahogany embellished with three fixed grooves. The sides are composed of two cuba mahogany panels slightly set back from the light mahogany crosspieces. This elegant semainier is topped with a red Pyrenean marble veined and spotted with white and gray. This original marble, having been polished, has a groove around it and has not suffered any breakage. Its ideal dimensions and the marriage of different species of mahogany, make this Louis XVI semainier a rare piece of furniture.
